Who we are
ChronoHackers (chrono-hackers.com) is a showcase publication for DIY watch projects. Correspondence: info@chrono-hackers.com.
What we collect and why
Email address (newsletter subscribers) — collected when you subscribe. Used only to send new article notifications. We do not sell or share your email with third parties.
Project submission data — name, email, and project details submitted via the submission form. Used solely to evaluate and publish project write-ups. We may contact you for follow-up questions.
Comments — the name (or "Anonymous") and text you submit when leaving a comment on an article. Stored against the article and publicly visible. We do not associate comments with your IP address or device.
View counts — we count page views as an aggregate number. No personal data is stored in this process.
Thumbs-up reactions — we record aggregate thumbs-up counts per article. Your browser remembers whether you voted using localStorage; we do not receive or store personal identifiers.
Third-party processors
Cloudflare — our website is hosted and delivered via Cloudflare Pages and Cloudflare's CDN. Cloudflare processes all traffic to this site as our infrastructure provider. See Cloudflare's privacy policy at cloudflare.com/privacypolicy.
Web3Forms — form submissions are processed by Web3Forms. See their privacy policy at web3forms.com.
Cookies and local storage
We store your theme preference (light/dark) and article reaction state in your browser's localStorage.

Your rights (GDPR)
If you are in the EEA, UK, or Switzerland, you have the right to access, correct, or request deletion of your personal data. To exercise these rights, email info@chrono-hackers.com and we will respond within 30 days.
Data retention
Newsletter subscriptions are retained until you unsubscribe. Comments are retained indefinitely as part of the published article unless you request deletion. Submission data is retained for 12 months or until we have processed or declined your submission.
